Den Dokumentarfilm "Collective" vum däitsch-rumänesche Realisateur Alexander Nanau gouf an der Kategorie "European Documentary" nominéiert.

"Collective" ass eng passionant a spannend inzenéiert a montéiert Enquête iwwert dat korrupt Gesondheetswiesen a Rumänien. No engem tragesche Brand an der Bukarester Disco "Colectiv" am Oktober 2015 ware 64 jonk Leit ëm d'Liewe komme, 146 Persoune goufen deels schwéier blesséiert.

De Film suivéiert e Journalist vun enger Sportszeitung, deen no an no ëmmer méi Mëssstänn opdeckt: keng Noutausgäng an der Disko, sous-equipéiert Spideeler, Refus vun den Autoritéiten d'Affer an auslännesch Klinicken ze verleeën, trafiquéiert Desinfectanten duerch eng rumänesch Pharmaentreprise an den nei designéierte Gesondheetsminister, e fréieren Aktivist vun enger Patientevertriedung. Dëse versicht, esou gutt e kann, un éischter Stell der Korruptioun a Vetternwirtschaft an de Spideeler Meeschter ze ginn an nei Gestiounscritèren duerchzesetzen.

Berlin, November 10, 2020 - COLLECTIVE, the gripping real-time docu-thriller by Alexander Nanau proudly earns the EFA Nomination for European Documentary 2020.

The acclaimed documentary, highlighting the vital role of journalism in the fight against corruption at the highest levels of government, recently entered the Oscar® race as Romania's official entry for Best International Feature. The first time a Romanian documentary has been the country's official submission.

"The EFA nomination is a key step in the path of COLLECTIVE - says Alexander Nanau - I am honored that the members of the European Film Academy are recognizing the immense value of investigative journalism for our societies and the human bravery and responsibility it takes to fight official corruption. I feel that in our eroding democracies, the authentic depiction of corruption, and the power of a free press to hold it in check is an increasingly important topic for European cinema".

The European Film Awards winners will be announced on December 12th.
