Offiziell Biographie vun den Artisten

CHAILD: CHAiLD (pronounced “Child”) is a queer, rising electro-pop artist from Luxembourg. His unique, soothing, yet intense voice grabs you by the gut, only to let it go with a rush of exhilaration and a tear in your eye. Catchy hooks and earworm melodies; that’s how CHAiLD has managed to establish himself as one of the most promising and undeniable young artists from the Grand Duchy’s musical landscape. His melancholic universe combines the Italian and Portuguese musical influences he grew up with alongside his own take on modern electro-pop.

CULTURE THE KID: Culture the Kid (Matteo Griz Wolff) has always had an attraction to music. As a child, he bathed in the music he heard from both his Luxembourgish father and his Brazilian mother. Music has always accompanied him throughout his early years, pushing him to take guitar lessons and write songs to accompany the playing. He then joined the collective “Rock club” created by Chris Hewett and Fred Barreto at age 13 which gave him the chance to make his first experiences in live stage performance with a band on numerous venues such as the “Fête de la Musique” in Luxembourg. At age 14, Matteo stumbled upon rap and instantly felt attracted to the numerous possibilities of expression the genre contains. In its diversity and its greater depth in terms of lyrics, he found a way to project a more complete image of himself into them and thus have his music fulfill its introspective role for the young man to a greater extent. Culture the Kid places himself among the new-school Hip-Hop stream but tries to keep close ties to the roots of what the genre stands for. By retaining an organic sound to his beats, Culture tries to assure this meddling of times and styles In December 2020, Culture participated in the “The Qwest Freestyle Challenge” by Rocklab in which participants received a beat on which they had to perform a freestyle themed “a new world”. Along with fellow rappers DaMensa and Mellow, Culture won the challenge by public voting, winning a recording session along with the challenge’s producers to record an original song on the given beat. More recently, his original song ‘Glass Walls’ contained in his first mixtape “General Culture”, was a great success and managed to land in the local ‘Eldoradio Chartbreaker’ and to remain in the first place on the station’s charts for two weeks. https://konektisentertainment.com/artist/culturethekid

EDSUN: EDSUN, a young, aspiring musician from Luxembourg, creates alternative R&B, smoothly laden with dark rhythmic beats. His musical style is unique to the Luxembourgish music scene and has been growing since the release of his debut EP “N.O.”. EDSUN’s background consists in performing arts, in particular singing and dance, which he started at a very young age. https://konektisentertainment.com/artist/edsun

ENGLBRT: The indietronica duo ENGLBRT is the unexpected union between singer-songwriter Georges Goerens and the drummer and composer Niels Engel. Combining multiple influences ranging from Electronic, Contemporary Jazz, to well-crafted Indie-Pop they manage to create their very own musical symbiosis reminiscent of Radiohead, Jordan Rakei, Yussef Dayes and Tom Misch. Together they are ready to snatch you away from your day-to-day and take you on an entrancing journey to a place where densely layered synthie pads and finger-picked guitars combine with driving rhythms to provide a sparkling mosaic backdrop for silky smooth and catchy melodies. https://www.englbrt.com/

FRANCIS OF DELIRIUM: With three EPs (‘All Change’, ‘Wading’ & ‘The Funhouse’), Luxembourg-based 20-year-old Jana Bahrich’s Francis of Delirium have quickly caught attention, finding champions in the likes of Pitchfork, Stereogum, The FADER, Paste, DIY, The Line of Best Fit, Clash, 6Music, Radio 1, KEXP, NPR and more. She was recently shortlisted for 2022’s highly prestigious ESNS Music Moves Europe Award.

A restless energy and desire to connect with the listener lies at the core of Francis of Delirium, with Jana’s personal lyrics being underpinned by an undeniable rock sound that is as liberating as it is intense. Hailed as a Gen Zer excitingly redrawing 90s classic indie rock (unsurprising given her chief collaborator Chris Hewett hails from Seattle and is three decades her senior), a deep admiration for contemporary acts such as Car Seat Headrest, Japanese Breakfast, Mitski, Phoebe Bridgers and Sufjan Stevens is also abundantly clear.

Having recently returned from North America after playing 26 support dates with The Districts - plus a debut headline show in New York and festival slots at both Shaky Knees and Treefort - Jana arrives back to the UK/EU this summer for a run of support dates with Briston Maroney. Francis of Delirium then support Kings of Leon in Luxembourg City before playing 10 headline shows across the UK in September.

FRED BARRETO GROUP: The furious Brazilian guitarist, Fred Barreto, is one of a kind! He belongs to those musicians who are recognizable straight away from the first notes played by his guitar. His huge sound doesn’t leave his audience indifferent. And his ability to connecting directly to the listeners never ceases to impress Blues-Rock fans. Barreto means serious when it comes to play solid Rock or raw Blues. No need to try finding similarities with other guitar players, Fred Barreto is an accomplished guitarist and does his own « thing » with great talent, virtuosity and soul. https://www.fredbarretogroup.com/

MAZ: Maz is known for delivering a powerful and truthful message to his audiences with the aim to spark a raw confrontation with life in brutal honesty. A determination to not only scratch at the surface but to tear through it and see what lies underneath. He absorbs melancholy and reciprocates hope. His flow and highly evolved technical skills will leave the audience “Maz"merized. Risen out of the ashes of early 2000’s Metal and Rock influences - it is those heavy and dark, and yet extremely emotional and energetic beats that carry the words of the progressive rapper from the future. Maz is the new engine of a more genuine and profound generation and incarnates a courageous attitude of empathy with a solid perspective towards a future world. https://konektisentertainment.com/artist/maz

TUYS: TUYS is a four-piece band established in Luxembourg and now based in Berlin, creating driving indie rock and emotive psych-pop music with chiming guitars, synths, and wide-ranging vocals in three-part harmony. The band also heavily focuses on visual art and navigates on the threshold between fiction and reality with a satirical edge. Quite impressively, TUYS first TV appearance was at thirteen and their first Rockhal gig at fourteen. Even in the beginning, with their first EPs “People” (2012) and “Carousel” (2015), the band displayed confidence and fervour and projected a wide-eyed charm that’s very endearing. So, it came as no surprise that they soon began building their fanbase also through their engaging performances at festivals like Reeperbahn Festival, MS Dockville, The Great Escape, Sonic Visions, and Rock-A-Field. The release of “A Curtain Call For Dreamers” series came out in 2020 as the band’s creative manifest, an audiovisual project through which TUYS explore a hooky dance-rock and a genre-bending pop aesthetic with a lush psychedelic twist, combining reality and dream, both in their sound and lyrics. The album consists of five songs/episodes with witty songcraft and deft arrangements, all winking at futurism and surrealism, both musically and lyrically, while also wallowing in warped dreams painting odd cinematic soundscapes, starring peculiar characters. Following “A Curtain Call For Dreamers” and their appearance in the digital version of Eurosonic 2021, TUYS have announced their cooperation with three new partners on the live side: Echelon Talent Agency (UK), Friendly Fire and Intersection (Netherlands and Belgium). TUYS are currently working on a new album while crossing fingers to be touring again soon. https://tuys.lu/
